1 Showing up on time
Please enter the meeting on time. If it's your child's first lesson, please make sure Google Meet is working properly ahead of time. Laptops or iPads supplied by schools sometimes have restrictions placed on Google Meet.
2 Missing a class
It's fine if your child has to miss a class. Please give us a 24-hour notice. If 24-hour notice is not possible, please give a notice at least 6 to 12 hours in advance. We will try to reschedule the class as much as possible. If there is no advance notice for an absence (i.e. "skipping the class"), there will be no make-up class and the lesson credit is still deducted from the scheduled lesson.
3 Missing multiple classes
The classes are useful only if they are attended consistently. If your child misses more than 4 lessons in a 60-day period, we may move your child to another time that your child can consistently attend or suspend your child for a period of time until he/she is available to attend consistently again. Note that this doesn't apply to pre-arranged plans for temporary absence, such as spring break or summer vacation.
4 Being respectful in class
It's important to be respectful toward others in the class. The following behaviours or languages are unacceptable.
- Swearing or using obscene languages
- Using sexist language
- Using racist language
- Bullying or belittling the tutor
5 Breaks during class
Your child can have a bathroom break any time during a lesson. If your child is attending a 2-hour lesson, we try to schedule a 5-minute break at about one hour into the lesson. If your child requires a short break, just ask the tutor.
6 Internet disruption or technical difficulties
Sometimes, technical difficulties arise. If a technical difficulty arises on our end for more than 2, 3 minutes, we will add the amount of time missed to the end of the class, or reschedule another time if that is not possible. If a technical difficulty arises on your child's end, we will not be able to pause the class or extend the class for more than 5 minutes or so.
7 Refund policies
When you are purchasing a package for the first time, if your or your child does not wish to continue after the first lesson, we will happily refund the unused credits in the package. There will be no refund after the start of the 2nd lesson, however.
