Policies

1 Showing up on time

Please enter the Google Meet lesson on time. If this is your child's first lesson, please make sure Google Meet, microphone, speakers, and webcam are working properly before the lesson starts. School-issued laptops or iPads may sometimes have restrictions that interfere with Google Meet.

2 Missing a lesson

If your child needs to miss a lesson, please provide at least 24 hours' notice whenever possible. If 24 hours' notice is not possible, please let me know as early as you can. I will try to reschedule the lesson when my schedule allows. If there is no advance notice for an absence, the lesson may be counted as used.

3 Missing multiple lessons

Tutoring is most effective when lessons are attended consistently. If a student misses many lessons within a short period of time, I may recommend moving the student to a different time slot or pausing lessons until the student is able to attend more consistently. This does not apply to pre-arranged absences such as March Break, summer vacation, or family travel.

4 Being respectful during lessons

A respectful learning environment is important. Students are expected to behave appropriately during lessons. Swearing, obscene language, racist or sexist comments, bullying, or intentionally disrespectful behaviour are not acceptable.

5 Breaks during lessons

Students may ask for a short bathroom break during a lesson when needed. For longer lessons, a short break may be given depending on the student's age, attention span, and lesson length.

6 Internet disruption or technical difficulties

If a technical issue happens on my end and causes a meaningful interruption, the missed time will be added to the lesson when possible, or another arrangement may be made. If the issue happens on the student's end, I will wait briefly and try to continue once the student reconnects, but the lesson usually cannot be extended for a long period because of other scheduled lessons.

7 Refund policy

If lessons are prepaid and the student does not wish to continue after the first lesson, unused lesson credits may be refunded. After the second lesson has started, prepaid lesson credits are generally not refundable, but remaining credits can still be used for future lessons.
